Community

Investing in wind energy is a great method for communities to express their views and educate the public about environmental and social responsibilities. In addition, wind turbines can provide electricity savings and long-term revenue gains, while helping achieve local energy security.

In Nova Scotia, many different communities are eligible for the COMFIT program such as Mi’kmaq Band Councils, Not-for-Profits, and CEDIF Groups. These community groups have the opportunity to reduce their environmental footprints and earn money over the long-term by investing in wind.
